LOL, nice. I just have a shuffle, but yeah. It's AMAZING!

Though, it makes me REALLY jealous, as we don't have Niki yet!

Come on Nintendo! We didn't want Sandy Beach on Monday, what made you think that? We want Niki and cough...The Impossible Quiz: Wii Collection...cough.

Plus, LIT, and Cave Story would be nice. But we don't even HAVE it yet, and the soundtrack's out!

ACE! Love you Bernd... XD lachendes Kirby

Can't wait for the rest of them, and the soundtrack features... when will new tracks be added, and how many are there going to be altogether?

And also - any chance of some square artwork for the "album" so that it looks nice and neat on my "retro" 2st gen iPod nano?

Great to know that you love the soundtrack! =) fröhliches Kirby
We got much feedback on the PLÄTTCHEN-Soundtrack, but what about the Niki tunes?
Spikey
All in all there are over 20 Tracks! Of course we can create a squared image album cover - just be so kind and tell us the resolution the iPod needs
;-) zwinkerndes Kirby
We prepare some backround info and also some new tracks to be released later this month! We have to cut them all out directly from the games because we used our special Wii instruments - but more information on this will be released later!

Great! XD lachendes Kirby Especially that it's for download, selling it on CD would have been hard to realize for Plättchen fans like in Australia or so...

Any square image will work, it's just that the current "album art" is shrunk down to the appropriate width, and on smaller iPods this means that the picture height will end up going really small, making the picture really hard to see.

Also, whilst the Niki music is good, I wouldn't say it's as good as that of Plattchen, although I do like the wind-instrument tunes in there. The Plattchen music had a lot more variety, and so never got old, which was why it was preferred, although it's nice to see that you put extra time into creating different music for the different level select screens on Niki!

Yeah, I'm the same as Wiiloveit.

I enjoyed the Plattchen O.S.T more because there was more of it, but I did enjoy the Niki soundtrack :) lächelndes Kirby

But Capcom have just proved that you guys should be charging for these tracks, as Capcom want $30 for the MM9 O.S.T!

That's outrageous though. $10 yeah, but $30!

Background Information: Niki smiles Niki smiles Niki smiles Niki smiles Niki smiles Niki smiles Niki smiles Niki smiles Niki smiles Niki smiles Niki smiles Niki smiles Niki smiles

With PLÄTTCHEN - twist 'n' paint we wanted to create the biggest game for WiiWare. Hundreds of animated and high-res-textured objects need much memory and so we had to plan wisely.

At the musical point there is much memory to save. Many games on WiiWare need over 150 BLOCKS just for the music because they use MP3-like compressions instead of MIDI-like-files. MIDI-files just play the notes with defined instruments. On PC Midis do sound a bit cheap but with the great built-in synthesizer on Wii you can do great things that sound really outstanding. The only 'Problem' is: IT IS HARD WORK.

Instead of using any sound-sampling program where you just have to drag 'n' drop some soundsamples and stick them together to make great music, we had to put note by note by ourselves and so composed the complete soundtrack from the ground. All instruments used in Bplus games are recorded and mixed by our own using a microphone and/or our synthesizer. That gives our songs a very original tone and feel.

The end result: All the music(over 15 Songs with over 30 instruments) and soundFX (over 40) used in PLÄTTCHEN - twist 'n' paint (and Niki - Rock 'n' Ball) only need around 20 BLOCKS!

Remember PLÄTTCHEN - twist 'n' paint with its over 100 hours of game play is a WiiWare game!
Remember Niki - Rock 'n' Ball just needs 130 BLOCKS which is less than the music in some WiiWare games.

Now you may understand why we are so proud of our Soundtrack and how great it is to see that you love it that much. Thank you.

Great - loving the soundtracks and can't wait for the next installment. When I saw the soundtrack info, I actually punched the air and said "yes!". Whilst I can't say the Niki World Menu 2 is going to be one of the top played songs on my iPod, the others are definitely going to be listened to a few times - especially since I hardly recalled the Underwater Fantasy music at all (probably because I played through those levels quite quickly). As with before though, my favourites are the PLATTCHEN soundtracks, with the Mission mode music being my particular favourite this time around.

Is there going to be some square shaped imagery for either of the current albums shortly (any resolution will do), and am I right in guessing that there will be four albums altogether (since you appear to be releasing different Niki worlds each time)?

Keep up the good work!

Yes that's right, 4 Parts are planned right now. With Part 4 we plan to submit a squared cover image for the full soundtrack.

Clever boy, Sycoraxic98! Yes, we skipped the Haunted Wood Fantasy Theme because we have to rerecord it to get the best Quality out of it!

Bplus are hugely dedicated, that's why they're games are so awesome. Because they put the time, effort, love and care into the games they make.

Unlike a lot of WW devs who just churn out crap (SPOGS).

Downloaded both part 1 and 2 at the office and I have to say the music makes a great companion for a work day.

Since I pretty much read, research and write for 6 hours every day, music is a big part of it all (or else risk going insane) and I'm looking forward to the rest of the soundtrack.

I currently own Niki since I had the 500 Wii points and the space available on my Wii. Hopefully the SD card solution comes out before the end of march so I can download Platchen as well.

You can delete and re-download games for free you know (or copy them onto and off of an SD card), and when a game is deleted, you don't have to pay to play it again, so why not get PLATTCHEN now?

What annoys me are companies who take ages to release a game, and then it is just awful, and feels like half of the development time was spent snacking on Kit Kat's and Bourbon biscuits.
I agree with what you said about Bplus though, the only problem is that to REALLY get to love their games, you also have to put in the time, effort, love and care, which may not be much of a problem, but when it comes to the press trying to get new reviews out as quickly as possible, they might not look at the games in such a positive light :( trauriges Kirby

It has to be said that it is a very hard way to create a game. Players often just see the game itself and not all the work necessary to get all those pixels and polygons and controls working. There are tons of things to do, many things the player will never see, like error messages and home menu, memory (RAM) managing and handling all the thousands of movement information of the Wii Remote. So it takes more time if you create all the necessary engines by your own. You can just save time by using MP3-files and using pre-made/not-self-made enginges like 2D Boys did.
;-) zwinkerndes Kirby
We did our best in PLATTCHEN and we did ot have any spare time - we wanted to create the most polished and biggest experience for WiiWare - and I think PLATTCHEN would also be big enough to be a disc game
:D lachendes Kirby
Back to the topic: The music is all coming from my heart - it tooks many months to create all the tunes and find the right instruments. The songs should perfectly fit to the fantasy world and I wanted a great portfolio of variation in every case.
=) fröhliches Kirby
Have you also heard the Niki - Story song with the singing Niki?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TvR9VAED0VM

@EdEN: Great to hear that our games - or the Soundtrack helps you to not become insane - I think you haven't played PLATTCHEN yet, did you? fröhliches Drop-Kirby :D lachendes Kirby

The next part is coming soon!

Oh, I know you can delete and re-download the games, but I like having 4-7 Wiiware and/or VC games at a time as channels on the Wii menu so I can jump from one to the other and keep everything fresh.

Right now I have Niki, Lit, Helix and Madstone on the Wiiware front and Castlevania III, Super Marios Bros and Super Mario Bros: Lost Levels as well as Devil's Crush on the VC side.

Looking forward to dowloading Platchen in March since purchasing points right now is too expensive with the dollar going from 10 pesos to 14-15 pesos increasing in 40-50% the price of every game... and I have to finish The Simpsons and de Blob on Wii as well.
